Looking

Spoiler Alert: in the most recent episode of Looking: Pat is serenaded in bed by his beautiful scruffy naked latino lover; eloquently sung to in Spanish, while he strum slaps the bass guitar, "the instrument of love," with a gentle force, in bed on a sunny morning...I can't even make it through the first 4 minutes without crying tears of joy. If I've ever shared a dream with anyone, this is definitely it.

This blog serves as the ultimate sketchbook for me, a place where at any given time I can add writings to, videos, art, photography, opinions, confessions, ideas, hopes, dreams, fears, failures, poetry, essays, rants, or anything of the like.

As a 24 year old dude living on his own in New London, CT, I have a lot of raw material to get through that goes on my blog. To shed a shade or ray on my identity and character....

....I can say that I live with two to three alter egos on any given day that take part in most of my conversations, I am a full time bartender at a posh place and I wear all black when working, I like to smile a lot and I enjoy wearing makeup, I am drawn to women with power in terms of friendships and gentleman that are sincere and aren't afraid to get dirty, I like to write a lot and sometimes draw, I like dancing in the streets at night with a cocktail in one hand and cigarette in another whilst bumping jams and conversing to the world when I'm all alone, I enjoy open mic nights and readings, concerts, shows, art openings, galleries, circles of friends, booze, beer, heart to hearts, adventures, and frivolous antics, I have this throbbing affinity for well kept facial hair; men with dark features and undisclosed dynamic personalities, I have four or so years of mixed college and job history, or mixed ambitions and expectations....

.... My countless notebooks and recordings tend to get lost between experiences here and there, my blog is not chronological due to that, but welcomes works from across time into this one place. I am one of four children who grew up in a high class summer town of South Eastern CT with a complex "privileged" yet closeted childhood. The second I got the chance I transplanted myself to an apartment in the downtown area of a turbulent city, where the building smells like cigarettes and crack, I get asked for change more than I'm asked my name, and I'm surrounded by the most beautiful artistic minds I've ever met in my life. I'm experiencing a culture thats real and tangible to me as if I'm a virgin to young adult life...Because I am

Sometimes essays that took days to write in a text message may find there way here because they mean something to me, sometimes I'll record something someone said because I thought it to be wicked or beautiful and I'll put it here. Sometimes I'll have done something that makes me feel guilty or terrified of my own mind, and can't forgive myself or understand myself until I can write it out to discover my true thoughts in a way that is more balanced and less erratic.

I do hope to publish my thoughts and experiences one day. But for now this blog features my creative works or avenues to them, so please keep in mind: I am vivacious and uncensored, and If this blog incurs feelings of uncertainty or discomfort, move along.
